Informacje ogólne

  1. The “Piast Challenge” orienteering rally, hereinafter referred to as the “Rally”, is a sports and tourist event.
  2. The organizer of the rally is the Adventure Rally Club and OIKOS Cezary Wichniewicz.
  3. The patron of the rally is the Gniezno Forest District.
  4. The Rally Base will be located at Stanica Harcerska in Gaju 28, 62-230 Witkowo. Detailed information is available on the Professions Database website.
  5. The rally will take place on April 5-7, 2024 in the forests managed by the State Forests of the Gniezno Forest District.
  6. Main goals:
    • psycho-physical activation of participants,
    • promotion of historical, cultural, natural and landscape values ​​of the central-western part of Greater Poland,
    • providing participants with the opportunity to practically confirm their skills in using a map and compass,
    • popularizing orienteering events and adventure rallies as a form of promoting physical culture, tourism and recreation.

Participation in the Rally

  1. Participants start the Rally at their own risk, regardless of the weather conditions on the Rally route, and in the event of an accident, they will not claim compensation from the Organizers. The above facts are noted by deliberately selecting the option “I accept the Regulations of the Piast Challenge 2024 event” when completing the application form.
  2. To participate in the Rally you need:
    • completing the application form available on the Rally website https://piastchallenge.pl
    • payment of the entry fee for participation referred to in point 12.
    • over 18 years of age. Minors may take part in the Rally only under the constant supervision of at least one of their parents or authorized guardian, who is fully responsible for them. When registering in the Rally Database, please leave the completed authorization form. Minors without an authorized guardian will not be allowed to take part in the Rally. The guardian must not leave the patient unattended on the route. Failure to fulfill this obligation may result in disqualification.

  1. You can choose from one of six Rally routes:
    • TP 7 – walking route, approximately 7 km long
    • TP 25 – walking route, approximately 25 km long
    • TR 50 – bicycle route, approximately 50 km long
    • TR 100 – a bicycle route, approximately 100 km long, competitors on this route are classified in the Marathon Orienteering Cup (PMnO), in accordance with the Cup regulations.

Accommodation: people who chose the ‘Accommodation’ option on the form during registration are obliged to pay a fee of PLN 10 / person. Paid by bank transfer together with the entry fee.

  1. If a competitor registers for the competition and pays the entry fee and then resigns from the start, he or she should inform the Organizer. Players who report their absence by March 15, 2024 will receive a 70% refund. After this date, the entry fee paid will be forfeited to the Organizer.
  2. In order to receive a VAT invoice, please inform the Organizers by e-mail.
  3. The routes of the Rally are located in forests managed by the State Forests of the Gniezno Forest District.
  4. The length of individual routes was determined according to the most optimal linear variants (roads, paths, cultural borders, etc.).
  5. The participants’ task is to find and confirm as many Checkpoints as possible within the time limit set for individual routes.
  6. The time limit for individual routes is:
    • TP 7 – 2 hours,
    • TP 25 – 8 hours,
    • TR 50 – 8 hours,
    • TR 100 – 12 hours,
    • AR OPEN – 12 hours,
    • AR PROFI – 30 hours.
  7. Control Points are marked with white and orange lanterns located in the area. Presence at a Control Point is confirmed by marking the starting card field with a punch assigned to a given Control Point. If there is no perforator, confirm your presence at the Checkpoint by taking a photo with a digital camera.
  8. The competition lasts non-stop until the finish line is crossed or the judge notifies the participant to leave the route.
  9. The condition for classification is to find and confirm at least three Control Points on the starting card within the designated time limit.
  10. When determining the classification for individual routes, the largest possible number of Checkpoints found and confirmed on the starting card by the Rally participants is taken into account. In the event of an equal number of Points found and confirmed by at least two participants/teams, the decisive criterion is the time taken to complete the individual routes. If the time to complete the route is the same, the older competitor takes the higher position, unless the tied players decide otherwise.

Mandatory equipment

  1. Mandatory equipment includes:

For all routes:

    • compass,

    •  

      charged mobile phone with the option to take photos,

    •  

      first aid kit (recommended equipment: plasters, dressings, painkillers, elastic bandage, thermal insulation foil),

    •  

      clothing protecting against cold and rain – each team member,

    •  

      ID document (each adult participant of the Rally),

    •  

      provisions for the journey.

Additional for AR PROFI, AR OPEN, TR 100, TR 50 rotes:

    • technically efficient bike,
    • cover helmet,
    • flashlight/headlamp (does not apply to the TR 50 route),
    • rear red light when riding a bicycle.

Awards, distinctions, benefits

    1. Rally participants who took the first three places on individual routes will receive commemorative diplomas and prizes. On the TP 7, TP 25, TR 50 TR 100 routes, there is a separate classification for women and men. On the AR PROFI and AR OPEN routes, there is a separate classification for men’s teams (MM) and for teams with at least one participant being a woman (MIX). In the event of a small number of entries, the Organizer may combine some categories.

  1. All Rally participants will receive as part of the entry fee:

    • a set of maps,

    •  

      start number,

    •  

      buff,

    •  

      commemorative diplomas,

    •  

      water at the finish line,

    •  

      access to toilets and showers at the competition base

    •  

      GPS and support for tracking the competitor’s route on rally routes (AR OPEN and AR PROFI).

    1. The organizer may provide additional prizes awarded according to the criteria established by the organizer.

Processing of personal data and use of image

    1. Collecting the starting number is tantamount to accepting the Rally Regulations and consenting to the processing of personal data, sharing of the image and statements related to the organization of the Rally.
    2. In accordance with the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016. on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) the Administrator of personal data within the meaning of the Personal Data Protection Act, and from May 25, 2018 is the Adventure Rally Club, e-mail: kontakt@piastchallenge.pl (hereinafter referred to as the “Administrator”).
    3. Providing the Organizer with personal data and consent to use the image is voluntary, but it is a condition for participation in the event entitled “Piast Challenge”
    4. Personal data of competitors (including race results) will be processed for the purposes of organizing and conducting the event, organizing the Orienteering Marathon Cup (transferring data to the organizer of the series), sending competitors via e-mail and SMS information about the event and the current course of the organization, and other events, awarding, issuing, collecting and settling prizes in competitions in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC.
    5. The image of competitors recorded in the form of photographs or video and audio recordings will be used by the Administrator, the Gniezno Forest District, the Orienteering Marathon Cup, Puhar Na Szaga and the main sponsors of the event in order to promote the Piast Challenge cyclical event and other promotional activities in the media in all forms of publication, including in particular advertising posters, leaflets, printed promotional materials, promotional films, advertising in newspapers and magazines, on television and on the Internet, etc. The image may be used for various forms of electronic image processing, framing and composition, without the obligation to accept the final product, but not in forms generally considered unethical or offensive.
    6. The Administrator may transfer or make available personal data only to those entities or persons not indicated in point 32 who, at the request of the Organizer, carry out activities related to the organization and conduct of the race, only to the extent necessary to carry out the race.
    7. The Administrator ensures the security of personal data provided by the Competitors; this data is particularly protected and secured against access by unauthorized persons. The Administrator ensures that Competitors exercise their rights under the Personal Data Protection Act.
    8. The Administrator ensures that data related to the payment process, i.e. credit card numbers and details as well as access codes to online bank accounts, are not saved by the Administrator. In order to protect confidential data, transactions made through an external online payment system are encrypted.
    9. After registering the application and posting the entry fee, the competitor’s data (name and surname, place of residence – city, year of birth, club membership, gender) will be published on the publicly available start list and results.

Final Provisions

    1. The rally will take place regardless of weather conditions. The organizer reserves the right to change the route of the Rally at all stages if there are circumstances beyond the organizer’s control that could pose a threat to the life and health of participants or could affect the course of the Rally.
    2. Participants have the right to go and rest as they wish during the Rally. In order for the route to be “clean”, participants cannot use any means of transport. Participants cannot use organized assistance from third parties who are not participants of the Rally or satellite navigation devices. Additionally, Adventure tour teams must complete the entire route together. The distance between competitors can be a maximum of 100m.
    3. The use of satellite navigation devices as a navigation aid is prohibited. The use of satellite navigation devices is permitted only to record a track for use after the rally.
      Protests may be submitted in writing or electronically from the moment of announcing the preliminary results until 2 days after the Rally (the date of sending the protest is taken into account) to kontakt@piastchallenge.pl. Protests will be considered within 3 days, after which the official final classification of the Rally will be announced.
    4. All participants are obliged to check in after the Rally – at the finish line at the rally base or by phone if they leave the route on their own.
    5. Check-out is dictated by security reasons. If this obligation is not met, the participant may be charged with the costs of the rescue operation.
    6. The organizers do not provide transport for participants who decide not to continue the route. If possible, the Organizers may transport participants to the Rally base as a result of an accident, but the waiting time for transport may be very long.
    7. The Organizer does not provide Rally participants with insurance against the consequences of dangerous accidents.
    8. The Organizer is not responsible for items left unattended on the Rally premises.
      It is prohibited to light or burn bonfires in forest areas, and to move around agricultural crops, forest nurseries and private areas. T
    9. The Organizer is not responsible for any damage caused to participants by third parties or vice versa.
    10. There is an obligation to comply with legal regulations, in particular road traffic regulations and fire protection regulations. The participant is personally responsible for the consequences of violating these regulations.

       

    11. All participants are obliged to have and present a valid ID card when called by the Organizers.
      The starting number, issued at the Competition Office before the start, must be worn in a visible place on the bike or backpack during the Rally.

    12. The organizers have the right to withdraw a participant from the Rally route if the medical staff determines the inability to continue physical activity during the Rally and in the event of a violation of the provisions of these regulations.

    13. During the Rally, participants are obliged to follow the rules of “fair play”. Obstructing the march of other rally participants, misleading them, and in particular destroying or covering the markings of checkpoints and taking away devices to confirm presence is not allowed and may result in exclusion from participation in the Rally.

    14. The Organizer reserves the right to change the Regulations, about which the participants will be informed no later than on the start day.

    15. The final interpretation of the Regulations rests with the organizer. In disputes, the Organizer’s decision is final.
